Pink Plaid Design Christmas cards

Posted by Dana Lynn Thompson

When I started by web design business it was very important to me to pick just the right name. I wanted something off the wall, non-techy, inviting, something that would say "me" and that I could use with a twist for cool marketing. I came up with Pink Plaid. Can't remember for the life of me how. At first we were a bit worried that this very "non-computery" and quite feminine name might intimidate some guy clients. But they have been the most complimentary telling me they love the name!
Also, I struggled with really letting my often "very girly" side show through in my business. But then decided, you know what, this business is "me", they are getting Dana...not Joe, or Fred or Bill. That's what makes my business unique...me. Why should I pretend to be the corporate, stuffy business man, computer tech maxie zoomed dweebie geek when that is clearly who I am not. As a designer, don't I get to be the kind of quirky and fun "creative type" with a cool website and a super fun laptop bag? (website and bag coming soon!) I definitely want my business to be fun.

So, that is what I am doing...being me and enjoying every minute of it. In the spirit of "ME"ness I made these really cool Christmas cards for me clients. They are very pretty, very pink plaid and very me. No gold foiled, embossed corporate cards for me!

Your cards turned out great! I love the snow flake accents, and the tree is perfect (I might just have to 'scraplift' it ;)
