Today was a rare day when Scott had off work and was not playing a gig at night. We decided to take George over to Barnsley to ride him in the new arena. He loaded on the trailer great and off we went!

He was quite overwhelmed by all the sights and sounds at Barnsley...new horses, wire carts, tarps on the ground and a greenhouse covered in plastic were all VERY scary at first.

We worked a bit in the ring and then saddled up for a ride. He was doing really great. I had noticed earlier that he kept dropping his head and studying the sandy arena as if he wanted to roll, but he had thought better of it.

Scott was riding Star and I grabbed the camera off a post at the side of the arena to take their picture while still riding George. After taking the picture we were just standing around when all of a sudden George decided he thought that sand look aaaawwwfuuuuuuly niiiiiice!! Down he went to roll, saddle and all!! I leapt off just as he was getting to the ground to avoid being rolled on, the camera went flllllyyyying through the air and took the picture above on its way down!! Hahahaha!! Scott and I laughed hard at this!! Heee heee!!

I got back on George and we made a few rounds before I got off again. As I was taking another picture of Scott, he tried to roll again, but I was ready for him this time and gave him few swats to make him get up. He just cannot resist a nice bit of sand!!
