The March of Dimes committee had its first meeting in preparation for next year's WalkAmerica event here in Floyd County and I have been named PR Chair. However, since this is a small committee, I'm really only "chairing" myself! I guess I better do a good job or I'll have to kick my own butt! LOL!
In honor of my new position, I thought I'd do my part to help fulfill the portion of the March of Dimes mission on education by putting forth some interesting, and maybe little known, facts about March of Dimes and what makes this group so special. I won't be participating on a company team this year, so Scott and I will be forming our own family team. I know it isn't until next May, but I hope some of you will consider walking with us. We had a great time last year!
Did You Know?
That the March of Dimes spends only 12.5% of the money raised on administrative costs? This is much lower than the average of 25% spent by other large foundations. This means more of your dollars going to education and research for premature birth. Learn more about the March of Dimes at www.marchofdimes.com.
