Red Hot Chili Peppers

Last night we went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers at Gwinnett. Gary Martin Hayes, who Scott plays a few parties for each year, gave us two tickets for his suite. The opening band...Moltar Volta or something...was absolutely hideous. Painful, annoying, loud, fingers on a chalkboard, heinous, ears bleeding might be a few of the words used to describe them. Everyone in the suites were standing out outside in the hallway with doors shut to try and block them out. I think in 45 minutes they played two songs...and I use the word "songs" loosely.

RHCP were just ok for me. Scott thought they were amazing because they are amazing musicians and Flea did play a few bass solos that were jaw dropping unbelievable. And their drummer and lead guitar players definitely rock. But they only played 2 songs I knew that were popular from the radio and the rest I'd never heard before. They may have played some more popular songs in the encore, but we left early to beat the traffic out of Gwinnett Center since I had to work this morning.

Another crazy and completely jam packed weekend for us. Tonight Scott is playing a gig down in Newnan, tomorrow a gig in Morrow and working on Sunday. Tomorrow I'm driving all the way to Duluth to do my BeautiControl training (a company I signed up for to get the consultant discount on the awesome products I love. Not going to sell it, but let me know if you want to throw in on one of my orders to get the 50% off). Training is from 8am to 3pm so I'll have to be leaving our house at a little after 6am and I have to get up and get ready and feed horses. Ugh. But I do plan on making a stop at Hobby Lobby in Cartersville on the way home so that should soften the blow. Then I plan on watching the end of the GA/FL game. Go Dawgs!! I put that in there for Brent and Kevin. Sunday...more football!!

Til later,

Scott and Dana
