Spring has arrived at SSF and I am reveling in my favorite time of year on the farm. Our wildflower garden, dogwoods and apple tree are blooming, the grass is turning green and the leaves are quickly returning. Here are five signs that signal it is spring at Saddle Song Farm.
Spring has arrived at SSF and I am reveling in my favorite time of year on the farm. Our wildflower garden, dogwoods and apple tree are blooming, the grass is turning green and the leaves are quickly returning. Here are five signs that signal it is spring at Saddle Song Farm.
1. I feel the need to take a million pictures of Jazmin posed with every flower on the property. (See one of many photos on left) :O)
2. When we groom the horses we are actually doing a "hair transfer" which means we are transferring all the hair OFF of them ON to us.
3. I have an overwhelming urge to ride George, bathe him til he sparkles, clip every hair on his body so it is the exact same length, put a million rubber bands in his mane, put him on a trailer, haul several miles, sit out in a hot field in long pants and long sleeve shirt with boots and a hat on, spend hard earned money to show in front of a judge who may or may not know what he is doing, all to get a blue ribbon costing approximately 35 cents.
4. I want to be outside instead of watching tv with the possible exception of 24, House and American Idol. WARNING: Do not start watching any of these three shows unless you want to be totally obsessed!
5. The grass is already growing faster than Scott can mow it.
I'd love to hear what signals spring for you! Leave me a comment! Til next time....Dana & Scott
